UW Credit Union will open its 35th location on Cottage Grove Road next week as its membership continues to grow.
The new location aims to service more members with its current Monona branch becoming extremely busy. The new location comes as UW Credit Union’s total membership has reached 360,000 this fall. With its record numbers, it now looks to how it can increase accessibility.
“Located between our Monona and east side branches, this new location is a convenient intersection point for our Madison, Cottage Grove and Monona members,” said Amy Kriebs, UW Credit Union SVP member sales & solutions. “It has a great walkability factor plus necessary amenities like parking and drive-up lanes.”
The new branch will be a full service location on the first floor of the Fitzgerald Apartment Complex, 3914 Monona Dr. It will feature two drive up lanes, with interactive teller machines (ITMs) and covered parking. The new location is centrally located within walking distance to restaurants, nightlife hotspots and the Monona Public Library.
Staff will be Spanish bilingual with one financial specialist, two full-time bank tellers and one part-time. A Spanish bilingual staff has been something UW Credit Union has strived for. It received an award in late 2023 for its dedication to service its Hispanic and Latino members.
The grand opening will be held from 3-5 p.m. on Oct. 22. Green Bay Packers hall of fame offensive tackle Mark Tauscher will make an appearance for a meet and greet with attendees.
