Casa Hispana, a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving Latino communities in the Fox Valley region, announced today the appointment of Dr. Carlos Salazar, Ph.D., as its new Executive Director. February 12, 2024.
“Dr. Salazar brings a wealth of experience and a longstanding commitment to the Hispanic/Latinx community, making him the ideal leader to drive Casa Hispana’s mission and vision forward,” the organization wrote in a post on its website.
The Casa Hispana Search and Screen Committee, after conducting two rounds of interviews with highly qualified candidates, recommended Dr. Carlos Salazar for the position of Executive Director. His remarkable dedication to serving the Hispanic/Latinx community and his impressive skill set were key factors in this decision.
Carlos has experience working with community members of all ages and shared his plan for “…encouraging our community to dream big and achieve.”
In his free time, he enjoys jogging, Dodger baseball, and spending time with his wife and two children.
Salazar replaces Ernesto Gonzalez, who led the organization since its founding and announced his retirement in December.
Salazar most recently worked as director of the Center for Student Success and Belonging at UW-Oshkosh. He will take on his new role on February 12.
