The Society of St. Vincent de Paul — Madison has named Elisha Santiago-Barudin as the organization’s first Senior Director of Human Resources, according to a press release issued Monday. Assuming her new role August 1, she will spearhead key initiatives in talent management and employee development while supporting a continued positive work environment across the non-profit’s program and retail operations, the press release said.
The organization has more than 400 employees and volunteers.
“I am thrilled to embark on this meaningful journey with the St. Vincent de Paul — Madison staff,” Santiago-Barudin said in a statement. “I am eager to contribute my expertise to serve a vital mission in our community.”
Santiago-Barudin joins St. Vincent de Paul after more than two decades in the manufacturing, retail and non-profit sectors. Originally from Brooklyn, New York, she attended high school in Chicago, and continued her education at Wellesley College in Massachusetts. With her husband of 23 years, she has three daughters. She serves on a number of boards, including the Beaver Dam Hospital Foundation, Rotary Club of Beaver Dam, Beaver Dam Area Community Theater, and YMCA of Dodge County.
The spirituality and service of St. Vincent de Paul — Madison particularly appealed to her, she said.
“After delving into the profound spirituality of St. Vincent de Paul, I am inspired by his example of selfless service and love for others,” Santiago-Barudin said in a statement. “A cherished quote of his that resonates with me is, ‘Love is inventive to infinity.’”
“Elisha’s passion for our mission runs deep,” Julie Bennet, CEO & Executive Director, said in a statement. “I am confident her experience and devotion will be an asset to our staff. Her skills will help us provide critical support services and operate prosperous thrift stores in Dane County.”
