GHC seeks applicants for Medical Diversity Scholarship

Group Health Cooperative of South Central Wisconsin (GHC) has announced that applications are open for its Medical Diversity Scholarship for its second year in a row.

The GHC Medical Scholarship aims to provide three recipients who identify as Black, Indigenous and/or Latinx with $5,000. Applicants must be currently enrolled in medical school, physician assistant, nurse practitioner programs, or in residency in Wisconsin. The funds aim to recognize outstanding academic achievement and provide financial support to those who have a genuine passion for the primary care medical field, according to a press release from GHC.

To apply, applicants should send application materials to llacossiere@ghcscw.com with a completed application form (available for download here) that includes contact and demographics information, a 500-word response to each of the two essay prompts and a signed letter confirming enrollment or residency at your program. 

Applications are due June 15, Funds will be disbursed in October. Recipients of the scholarship will also have the experience to shadow professionals at GHC South Central Madison in the fall.
