Michael Etheridge has been named the executive director of The Road Home Dane County, the non-profit announced on Thursday.
“Michael not only brings extensive knowledge and expertise in managing homelessness services, but also a deep commitment to our mission,” said Robin Matthies, the president of the board of directors for The Road Home. “His impressive track record and strategic approach make him the ideal person to lead The Road Home into its next chapter.”
The Road Home Dane County is committed to ending the issue of family homelessness in the community by developing long-term relationships with homeless families with children that change lives, according to its mission.
Etheridge comes to The Road Home Dane County after serving 10 years as the executive director of The Haven of Manitowoc County, Inc., a men’s homeless shelter, according to a press release from The Road Home, and under his leadership, The Haven made significant strides, serving 490 men and securing permanent housing for 70% of them. He also spearheaded a shared housing expansion, providing a crucial bridge for guests transitioning to permanent housing.
“I am excited to join The Road Home and contribute to its mission of providing housing and supportive services for those in need,” said Etheridge in a statement. “I am committed to fostering supportive environments and promoting collaborative and innovative solutions that meet the needs of our community.”
Etheridge will begin his new position on Monday, Aug. 5.
