The Latino Chamber of Commerce of Southeast Wisconsin (LCCSEW) announced Friday that its 7th Annual Mas Fuertes Juntos Member Meeting will take place on Wednesday, February 28th, 2024, from 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM at UMOS, 2701 S. Chase Ave., Milwaukee. This free event allows the community to forge connections, celebrate the chamber’s achievements, and learn about resources available to fuel business growth, according to a press release.
“We’re thrilled to mark seven years of dedication, achievement, and collaboration that have helped uplift the economic prosperity of the Southeast Wisconsin business community,” LCCSEW president and CEO Dr. Nelson Soler said in a statement.
The meeting will also recognize impactful partners who have played a key role in the chamber’s success, according to the press release. Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin Health Network, UMOS, North Shore Bank, and the Multicultural Entrepreneurial Institute will receive the Mas Fuertes Juntos Founders Award for their unwavering commitment since the chamber’s inception. Additionally, Darryl Morin of Forward Latino will be recognized with the Mas Fuertes Juntos Partner of the Year Award, and Common Council President Jose Perez will receive the Mas Fuertes Juntos Public Service Award for their dedication to the Latino community.
The press release outlined some of the impacts the LCCSEW has made in its seven years, including:
- Over $1.5 million in grants distributed to small businesses
- 2,800+ businesses and professionals connected with resources through the Latino Economic Unsummit
- 97 businesses trained in understanding cash flow through Cash Flow Training
- 30 individuals trained in computer technology and helped to receive higher education credits through Workforce Development
- 300 businesses canvassed in Southeast Wisconsin
- 1,800 requests for service handled during the pandemic
