Blueprint365 named finalist for two Milwaukee Press Club awards

Blueprint365 has been named a finalist for two 2023 Milwaukee Press Club Awards in its first year of existence.

MPC named three finalists in each category, with final placement of gold, silver and bronze awards to be announced at the organization’s Gridiron Dinner on May 3.

Blueprint365 earned finalist honors in the following categories:

“Every day we focus on highlighting communities of color and amplifying their voices. We appreciate our peers recognizing the importance of our work and also the quality of our work,” said Henry Sanders, publisher of Madison365 and CEO of 365 Media Foundation. “All of the finalists are examples of impactful journalism. I couldn’t be more proud of our team.”

Additionally, 365 Media Foundation’s community news website Madison365 is a finalist for Best Local News or Feature Website, Best Investigative Story for Robert Chappell’s coverage of a local Indigenous arts leader who was not, in fact, Indigenous and Best Original Podcast.

Madison365 has been recognized locally and nationally, earning nine previous Milwaukee Press Club awards, a 2021 award for Excellence in Revenue and 2019 awards for Best Breaking News and Publication of the Year from the national organization LION Publishers. Blueprint365, launched in February 2023, is participating in the Milwaukee Press Club awards for the first time.

This year’s MPC contest drew more than 800 entries from throughout Wisconsin in professional and collegiate categories. Representing journalists and news outlets since 1885, MPC is the oldest continually operating press club in North America.
