Disability:IN Wisconsin, Wisconsin’s only business association dedicated to disability inclusion in the workplace, announced the appointment of Saul Newton as the organization’s new Executive Director in a press release Thursday.
Newton officially assumed the role of Executive Director on January 1 following the retirement of the organization’s founding Executive Director Judy Quigley at the end of the year.
As the newly appointed Executive Director, Newton will lead Disability:IN Wisconsin in its mission to empower businesses to achieve disability inclusion and equality, according to the press release. This includes working closely with employers, disability-owned businesses, and community organizations to create a more inclusive and accessible workforce.
Newton has a background in disability advocacy and has played a pivotal role in advancing inclusion initiatives throughout his career. A service-disabled US Army veteran, Newton founded the Wisconsin Veterans Chamber of Commerce in 2015 and served as the organization’s President & CEO for the last eight years. He has demonstrated a passion for breaking down barriers and promoting diversity and inclusion within organizations.
“We are excited to welcome Saul as our new Executive Director,” board chair Alyssa Ryanjoy said in a statement. “We believe he will bring fresh perspectives and innovative strategies to further our mission and drive positive change in our community.”
“I am honored and humbled to lead Disability:IN Wisconsin in its mission to promote disability inclusion,” Newton said in a statement. “I am committed to working collaboratively with our partners to create workplaces that are accessible, diverse, and inclusive for individuals with disabilities.”
