Earlier today, Assembly Minority Leader Greta Neubauer (D-Racine) appointed Representative Samba Baldeh (D-Madison) was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC). He replaces outgoing board member Rep. Francesca Hong.
“I welcome this new opportunity to serve my community and the entire state. I am eager to begin my work with the Board of Directors,” Baldeh said in a statement. “As an entrepreneur and small business owner, and after two decades working in corporate America, I have seen firsthand the challenges and possibilities that come with doing business in Wisconsin and the good that WEDC can create in our communities. As the Assembly Democrats’ representative to the Board, I promise to continue to serve as a voice for our underrepresented communities and to bring a diverse and globally-oriented viewpoint to the Board of Directors.”
WEDC’s Board of Directors is composed of state legislators, departmental secretaries and individuals from the private sector with relevant business-related experience.
